Sunflowers

I don’t know why I have such a strong attachment to sunflowers. Whenever I see them, my mind slows down and I find myself staring at them for a little while.

Living in Saigon, where space is limited, most of what surrounds me are buildings, narrow sidewalks, and small parks. A field of flowers feels like something that belongs to the faraway countryside.

In early 2025, while doing my walking exercise and exploring a new route, I came across a small sunflower garden inside Saigon Riverfront Park (Công Viên Bờ Sông Sài Gòn). It was a surprise to me. For a moment, it felt like a dream come true. It’s not a large field like the one I sometimes imagine, but it’s large enough for the bright yellow flowers to stand together and shine in the sunlight.

Below is a small documentary photo series I captured during my walks.
